The 2026/2027 school year is being prepared at full speed. Education Minister Noureddine Nouri confirmed it on 8 September 2026 during a field visit to Bizerte: registrations on the new education platform are nearly complete, and timetables are almost finalised in most schools.
Your registration and timetable: where do things stand?
If you registered on the new education platform, the process is nearly done. The minister confirmed that registrations are about to be wrapped up. Good news if you were worried about last-minute problems.
As for timetables, almost every school has finalised theirs. So you should know your schedule within the first few days of term, without waiting for weeks.
Textbooks: nearly everything is in the bookshops
Almost all textbooks are already available in bookshops. Only 1 or 2 titles are still missing and being restocked.
The Year 3 primary book will be on shelves from Wednesday 9 September 2026. If you have a younger brother or sister at that level, you know when to go and get their book.
A new lower secondary school in Bizerte South
El Jala school, in Bizerte South, will be ready to welcome pupils from the start of term. It has 8 regular classrooms and 8 specialist rooms, with capacity for 500 to 600 pupils.
This new school is one of 23 new educational facilities ready for the new school year across the country. Its goal is clear: ease the pressure on schools in Bizerte city. The Bizerte governor, Salem Ben Yaakoub, joined the minister on this visit.
