The French Institute of Tunisia has opened applications for the second edition of its 2026 research scholarship programme, according to lapresse.tn. Five one-month mobility scholarships in France are available, with a submission deadline of 30 September 2026 at midnight.
Who can apply
The programme is open to Tunisian researchers who hold a doctorate. Winners will develop scientific projects in partnership with laboratories and researchers based in France.
Two thematic areas are on offer: health, society and artificial intelligence; climate change, resources and heritage protection.
Watch out for the exclusions. Candidates of French nationality, sole or dual, cannot apply. The same applies to anyone already receiving other active funding from the French embassy or third-party universities.
How much you get
The monthly allowance depends on your post-doctoral experience. It is 1,704 euros if you defended your thesis less than five years ago, and 2,055 euros beyond five years.
The grant also covers return flights and health insurance cover. Visa fees are waived, excluding TLS charges.
The application file
The file consists of an official form and a single PDF combining several documents:
- a CV of two pages maximum
- a certified copy of the doctorate
- a project note of four pages maximum
- an acceptance letter from the host laboratory in France
This last point requires the most preparation: without acceptance from a French laboratory, your file is not complete.
What happens after submission
Selection is carried out by a committee of academic experts. Results will be notified individually to candidates. The source article does not give the date of this notification.
